Known to most as the mother of Pope St. Gregory the Great, Saint Sylvia is one of the role models for women hoping to instill the Faith in their children. Saint Sylvia loved God with a burning desire, and she wished to share that love with those she loved most on earth, her own children. Her inspiration and love of God led her son to become a great pope and Doctor of the Church.
Because of her devotion to her children, she is the patron saint of mothers and pregnant women.
Today we pray for all pregnant women, that they may choose life even in this culture of death. We pray for all mothers, that they may share the love of God with their children.

Saint Sylvia, you teach us to love God and share that love with those we care about most. Help all expectant mothers to love their children like you did and to always choose life.
